Job Description

We are looking for an experienced teacher with knowledge of the Digital Solutions course (Years 7–12). Knowledge of the Computer Science course (International Baccalaureate) would be an advantage, but is not essential.

The Head of Subject will develop and deliver high quality teaching and learning programmes within the department of Technology.  They will be strong in leading a performance agenda, whilst being data-driven and people-focussed, with a strong desire to maximise achievement for all students through innovation and continual improvement.

We wish to invite experienced teachers to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Teacher for the Senior School of Churchie. Experience teaching in the International Baccalaureate programme would also be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will have

  • A clear vision for the continued growth and success of Digital Solutions and Computer Science, with a focus on strengthening programmes that are contemporary, relevant, and engaging for students.
  • A passion for leading and inspiring a skilled team to collaboratively design and deliver innovative, engaging, and high-quality curriculum experiences.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a collaborative team culture, encouraging innovation and creativity in the design and delivery of dynamic and engaging curriculum.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teaching the disciplines outlined above (or a closely related field), along with a proactive willingness to further develop expertise in this area. Familiarity with the relevant syllabus will be considered an advantage.
  • An interest in, and openness to, teaching within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, with support provided for professional learning and development.
  • Strong capability to apply contemporary planning, teaching, and assessment practices that underpin high-quality learning within these disciplines.
  • A track record of excellence in classroom practice, using engaging and inclusive strategies to support a diverse range of learners. This includes the effective use of both collaborative and independent learning approaches, fostering a literacy-rich environment, and leveraging technology to enhance student outcomes.
  • Eligible to work in Australia, Qualified Teacher and registered with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
