Job Description

Upper Strings | Visiting Performing Arts Tutor

The successful applicants will be suitably qualified and experienced Music Tutors in disciplines of Upper Strings (Violin and Viola) to join our busy, vibrant Music Department on a casual basis of approximately 3 days per week. Ensemble conducting and piano accompanying skills are preferred but not necessary for this position. As a direct employee of the school, you will take on the responsibility for individual tuition of your specialist discipline. 

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven understanding of recent teaching methodology
  • Experience in Violin as primary instrument highly preferred
  • A high level of accomplishment in instrumental performance
  • A high degree of competency in teaching Immersion program group lessons and individual instrumental lessons across primary and senior years.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate well with other music staff and school staff in general
  • Current working rights for Australia
  • Possess a current Working with Children Check – Blue Card
