Job Description
As a 2025 Rowing Volunteer Coach with Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) located in East Brisbane, you will play a vital role within the Cocurricular Support department. This casual position falls under the category of Coaching and Instructing. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs for rowing athletes.
Providing guidance and support to student athletes during training sessions and regattas.
Collaborating with the head coach to plan and execute effective coaching strategies.
Promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development among team members.
Contributing to the maintenance of equipment and facilities used for rowing activities.
The ideal candidate should possess a passion for rowing and coaching, along with strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude. Previous coaching experience or competing at a high level would be advantageous. Desired Skills and Experience
Experience in competing in rowing regattas at a competitive level (desirable but not essential)
Demonstrated coaching or mentoring experience, preferably in rowing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline
Ability to work effectively with young athletes and provide constructive feedback
Knowledge of rowing regatta rules, techniques, and strategies
Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school community
Availability to commit to the required training and regatta schedule
