Job Description

As a 2025 Rowing Volunteer Coach with Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) located in East Brisbane, you will play a vital role within the Cocurricular Support department. This casual position falls under the category of Coaching and Instructing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs for rowing athletes.
  • Providing guidance and support to student athletes during training sessions and regattas.
  • Collaborating with the head coach to plan and execute effective coaching strategies.
  • Promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development among team members.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of equipment and facilities used for rowing activities.

The ideal candidate should possess a passion for rowing and coaching, along with strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude. Previous coaching experience or competing at a high level would be advantageous. Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in competing in rowing regattas at a competitive level (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrated coaching or mentoring experience, preferably in rowing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline
  • Ability to work effectively with young athletes and provide constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of rowing regatta rules, techniques, and strategies
  • Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school community
  • Availability to commit to the required training and regatta schedule
